 Why should I give to St. Mary’s School?
Annual support of alumni, friends, parishioners and
businesses is critical to the future of St. Mary’s
Catholic School. Private gifts enable St. Mary’s to
enhance its programs and facilities and to go well
beyond what is possible with its tuition-based
budget alone.
The ultimate measure of a Catholic elementary school
is the caliber of its students. St. Mary’s alumni
families can already take pride in their school's
quality and image as their children move ahead to
high school and college. For all of us to
continually build on this reputation increases the
value of their connection with the school even as
they move forward. |
 Everything that happens throughout the year would
not be possible without the assistance of numerous
volunteers. Our volunteers are everywhere – they
help in classrooms, the library and the lunchroom;
they drive for field trips and help out in the
office. Room moms help teachers plan special events
and spend lots of time on the phone. Other parents
provide stage and make-up assistance with music
productions. HSA board members work tirelessly
throughout the year with fund raisers and family
activities.
You do not have to be a parent to volunteer – here
are just some of the opportunities available to you:

Call the school office or email to offer your time
and talent. You will also be asked to complete
paperwork as required by the Diocese of Nashville.

 The Charter for the Protection of Children and Young
People adopted by the Unites States Catholic
Conference of Bishops in 2002 is in place to give
the church and especially parents and guardians of
our children and youth the confidence that their
children are cared for in the safest and most secure
setting possible. Our diocesan wide program requires
all volunteers who have regular contact with
children, and without exception all employees of
parishes and institutions, to have on file:
- A completed diocesan authorization to release
information and a profile form.
- A background check through Kroll Background
America. (Renewable every 5 years.)
- A signed Acknowledgement Form certifying the
volunteer had read the policies of the Diocese of
Nashville, entitled Code of Conduct for Church
Personnel, Response to Allegations of Sexual Abuse
of a Minor, and Response to Allegations of Abuse of
a Professional Relationship; that the volunteer has
completed a Profile Form and an Authorization Form
for a criminal background
screening through Kroll
Background American; and affirms the importance of
being trained about ways to make and maintain a safe
environment for children, and has viewed the
diocesan educational presentation entitled,
Protecting Our Youth--The Duty to Report Child Abuse
& Neglect.

support St. Mary’s while you shop for every-day
items. All proceeds go directly to HSA funded
